The 1988 movie "They Live" depicted a world ran by an underground network of the most rich and powerful people in the world in an alliance with an invading horde of extraterrestrials. They controlled the population through commerce. They wanted the lower levels of the human race to work, consume and reproduce. In this they created a race of people who's sole responsibility was to work for and buy things from their masters. They encouraged the workers to created more little workers and they would control the the poor by giving them the illusion they could be one of the rich and elite. They survived by making the populace believe their whole existence depends on spending their lives working to earn money to buy goods to improve our economy so they can continue to do the same. They funnel the money to their fellow rich and elite. What crazy science fiction right. This is the world we live in, everyday they grow stronger and they control more and more and give you less and less. The things that happen today make the deeds of the past seem minor. A handful of companies and billionaires run this country. We have sacrificed any freedoms we once had to become the "richest" country in the world, this also at great expense to many other nations. We are all guilty of the cycle they have created. We have to break the cycle and try to start a new. It will take generations, not weeks, but it has to start somewhere. It would be nice to turn "They Live" into a crazy science fiction story again.

 Those on capital hill always try to equate billion dollar conglomerates to small businesses. Everything we do to business hurts the small guy. So we are after a couple billion from the oil companies, but that is not the real problem. Something that is being floated around now is limiting lawsuits against these poor misunderstood companies. Another idea is that if you bring a lawsuit and lose you will pay all legal fee's for both parties involved. This means if Exxon-Mobil drills into your water table, poisons your well and injures you and your family you will have to go to court against their army of billionaire lawyers with a risk of having to pay them if the jury see's fit. It would be put in place to scare people from pursuing these companies. To scare people from challenging the established rich. They will never be happy as long as there is anything to empower the powerless. They cannot live with the idea that someone outside there club can challenge there power. This Capitalist way of letting the free market rule, unrestricted and unmonitored will be the end of America as we know it. If we don't put these companies in check they will control everything. We are on the fast track to China. Where the rich are billionaires and the poor can't afford food and there is no-one in between. Have your own opinion, but they tore down the wall in Germany and everyone celebrated. Now Russia has the highest ownership of Ferrari's and the poor starve to death. Welcome to Capitalism.

 After Sundays announcement that the US military has put an end to Osama Bin Laden I believe we are running out of excuses to stay in Afghanistan. We need to Bring the troops home. We have spent an estimated 1.5 Trillion dollars in the last decade on the war against terrorism. We need to back it down a notch. We cannot kill all the Bin Laden's the world produces. We need to catch up emotionally and fiscally.  We have lost over 6000 troops since the war in Iraq began, lets end it now and let the democratic wave in the middle east work its way through. We will have to deal with what is left in the end anyways. Be sure and pay attention to who wants the best future, not who is selling you the best now.

  I wish I understood where we are going. Is the Political plan for our country to wallow in self pity and try to spending cut ourselves out of debt. We are only going to carry on the long American tradition of insuring that one failed generation is followed by another failed generation. Cutting every government program that helps improve the lives of the impoverished will just create another generation of unwanted children to poor families unable to raise their children in a nurturing environment. The reason they do this is that they don't care. It doesn't really effect the rich. They don't have to look at the poor. They don't interact with the poor. They live in another world that doesn't even take from them financially to help the poor. They have no interest in changing because they like it this way. If you run a company that uses foreign slave labor to produce cheap products for the poor people of your own country, you still get rich. The success of our nation is graded by the stock market and the corporate success of our top 2%. Until the buyers of the goods and therefore enablers of the rich just stop and refuse to live their lives to gather up money for the wealthy our country will never turn the corner. We are doomed to repeat over and over the same mistakes. We are the cattle and will always be the cattle. Recent events continue to prove that we, by design, will stay in our place and not dare dream to come out of the shadows or we will be punished by our corporate masters. They will bust the unions and eventually make union organizing a crime. Just wait, they will lower wages across the board, so that they can hire more workers to build more goods to sell for higher prices to the people that they are now paying less. It seams like a joke, but it is no joke. We face the harshest government criminals that we have faced in a long time and they can only be stopped by ridding ourselves of them in 2012. Either in an election or a Mayan 2012 apocalypse type situation.  

   In the hand holding love session that was the last Congress of 2010 the washington steal-o-crats decided that we didn't need to raise the taxes on the top 2% back to appropriate levels. Now state by state the Republicans and some Democrats are trying to break the unions. This will lower the standard of living for hundreds of thousands of Americans, but not the top 2%. The wealthy will get to enjoy their tax rate and the new lower wages they will get to pay workers. After the states set the precedent, you can bet the rest will follow. No collective bargaining means no power. Ultimately they want to take any power away from those who are empowered by unions. I don't agree with every union policy, but they do make the owners of these corporations and the the state governments pay and treat their workers with some level of respect. They have shipped most our manufacturing jobs to China and now they want to convince us to bring them back, we must treat the America worker as a Chinese worker. We are not Chinese, they all get richer. Food costs, utility costs and fuel costs will not decrease, just the workers wages. Busting unions does typically create a small increase in jobs in the states that have a right to work law, but it decreases the income level of a larger base more than the increase in jobs. So we lower the standard of living on a large group to help a small group. Don't let the government ruin any chance of success that the working class have. Remember 2012 and remember who is trying to exploit and rob who.

     What is happening in the middle east right now is Democracy. Just because the people want someone in power that isn't an American puppet, doesn't make it anything else. We don't need anymore enemies in the middle-east, but putting a dictator in charge 30 years ago didn't make us any friends in the population of Egypt. The idea that we can pick governments for other nations better than their own population is stupid and has gotten us nowhere in the region. We cannot even run our own government effectively. A representative of the state department was talking on NPR about the distrust the American government has in the Egyptian government, because of the use of unauthorized wire taps and other techniques that go against general human rights that the US government believes in. Are you kidding me, we invented spying on our own citizens and perfected it when it was made legal with the Patriot act. By the way, anytime a group of people identify themselves with the word Patriot or Freedom or any other bullshit term used to describe a perfect god-fearing US of A, stay away. Patriotic means "Do the things that makes the Rich Richer and keeps the poor quiet" and Freedom generally means " The freedom for them to choose what you can do" I am sure that few organizations with freedom in the name are pro-choice. Whatever happens in the middle east will generally be a cluster-fuck, lets try to actually let it be someone else's cluster-fuck and stay out organizing other governments. Maybe we can try and sort out ours first.

  If everyone is packing a gun then criminals will think twice before they commit gun crimes. This is what has driven the NRA for decades. The state with one of, if not the loosest gun laws is Arizona. No concealed weapon permits, back ground checks while you wait. Yet in the NRA's safest scenario, no one yanked out a hand cannon and put an end to the shooting in Tuscon. It is a lie and an illusion brought to you by the right to life; who favor capital punishment, the religious loons that quote the bible, but do not live by it. Brought to you by another corporate American ran device called the NRA, who want the poor to rob the middle class and vise-versa. They want the weak to pray on each other, because it strengthens their position. If you don't believe this world is a better place with some form of gun control in place, you are an idiot.

   While our ruined government, full of bullshit and idiots sits idle something very special is taking place. The 112th congress is celebrating itself with a day of teary eyed speeches and a lot of useless rhetoric. They make a huge production of anything that can celebrate who they are and what they have accomplished in life. They are as far out of touch with reality as you can get. They should be trying to sort out our problems, but all that is on a 2 year plan to the white house. They have no interest in actually performing the will of the American people. The reason they are so excited to become congressman and senators is that they know they will never be without health care, they will never hunt a job or struggle to pay their way. They know that they are now royalty. Never will they have a care in the world again.  They now are members of an exclusive rich mans club that insures that they will always have it made. They fly in their families and the corporate pricks that bankrolled their run to office. They smile and wave and cry. Oh, they are so happy.  I cant hate them anymore, they have ruined this country and our lives. Maybe when they are done celebrating their wonderful lives they will try to take back some of the jobs stolen by the rich and shipped overseas or give some of the people they have oppressed into poverty a chance to pull out and educate their young to build a better generation to come. Don't hold your breath, it doesn't benefit them, so don't expect it. You can however expect all of them to spend the balance of their lives on the boards of the corporate businesses that they serve while being paid by our government. Happy 2011 it will get worse before it gets better.

  I have a list of complaints this week, the first being we voted in a president that had a purpose and a will to follow that purpose. We now have a weak, spineless prick that can't bow to the republican assholes fast enough. More proof that the religious right run our country. Everything promised before the election, that has to do with taxes is out the window. All the Bush tax cuts are staying in place and we will continue to sell our souls to corporate interest (which I will add: have nothing in common with the regular taxpayers interests). We must want to keep the poor-poor and the rich getting richer, because we vote in these religious right wing millionaires every couple years and blame all our problems on people that want to make things better and I am not talking about Democrats, because they are rich pricks also. Do you ever wonder if they play to the poor to gain brownie points then fold to save their rich buddies who donate to their campaigns? Second on my list of complaints is AAA Auto Group. They are lobbying hard right now to change the meaning of the word transportation in government nomenclature. They want transportation to only mean fuel powered vehicles. Eliminating the sharing of tax revenues with bike paths, walk paths, rails to trails projects and anything that the people who sell towing insurance can't profit from. If you have AAA, drop it and tell them why. They are another corporate asshole who wants to suck up tax dollars for their own interests and exclude anything that doesn't benefit them directly. Although less bikes and people walking on public roadways makes everyone safer it doesn't sell their product so, cut it. Also, why are all the salt trucks running 24-7 with 2 inches of snow on the ground? In a month they will be saying that we are out of road clearing money because of all the bad weather, but they run us out of money by wasting all the stored up resources the first sign of snow. If you can't drive in two inches of snow maybe you should stay home or better yet; move south, I here Florida is nice. Also, Xmas is coming, lets try to do something nice for someone and see how it works out.......

    I can't help but see the humor that the Government is coming unhinged over Wiki-Leaks latest release. They passed the patriot act and stole every right we had to privacy and unlawful search. Now someone has turned the table on them and they are losing it. Any person who is put in danger by these releases can blame one person, that would be the one who originally typed it. We lie and cheat our way around the globe, ruining many a small countries ability to operate unmolested by our presence. We say things to turn these small countries against each other. Now we are being exposed and can't handle the heat. If we learn one thing from this it should be that they not only lie to us, they are also lying to them. Our government is a total train wreck and we prove it more and more with each passing day. A senator actually said last week that global warming is not a concern, because god said "He wouldn't make it flood again" to Moses. Besides being made up, gods word is infallible you know. We have been and continue to be proven morons to the world. We have a lot of house-cleaning to do and we need to do it quick.

    If you are driving down the road, any city street and encounter a cyclist give them a break. If you have to drive behind them for 5 seconds and then pass, you will be alright. I hate to point it out, but I have as much right legally to the highway as you. I pay road tax just like everyone else. It isn't only collected in gas tax, but from plenty of other sources they rape us with. Also a tip, honking is fucking stupid and you will end up getting someone hurt doing it, which is probably your goal. Every time some asshole comes up behind me and honks you can bet it will be a sport utility or a pick-up and I can promise you it will have In God We Trust plates. If I am making you late for work by holding you up 10 seconds, maybe you need to leave a little earlier and just because your an asshole I am not going to stop riding. All things you need to remember. Also you need to remember that its not always an angry adult on a bike, occasionally its a kid. Remember back in the good old days they used to ride their bikes to school, before you pricks made it too dangerous. By the way its veterans day, so take a minute to consider the sacrifices these people and their families make so that I can sit around and be pissed at you.

   Can you imagine that all we have are these assholes to vote for. As I watch election returns I realize that they are all ignorant dumb asses. Can you imagine that some of these half ass morons are going to be voted in by actual (alleged) functional humans. We have some real winners this season. These people couldn't run a lemonade stand and we let them run our country. I do not know where to begin, but we have to do something. It is two years to our next chance to create change, I hope someone has a plan, I am wide open for change. Maybe a new country or my own island. I sure like America, but I hate the entire congressional arm of the government. I swear I will kill someone if Sharon Angle wins in Nevada. I can't picture a world where Christine O'Donnell even gets a vote from anyone, but her family. Are we this stupid as a people? I need a nap, maybe 20-30 years worth.....

  Remember to take time to Google your local ballot and make informed decisions this upcoming election. Don't just pick a side or guess any more than necessary. The people that are running this mess want you to stay home and let the rich run the country and they will, but don't make it easy on them.

  Its done, all our problems are solved. The republicans have introduced the pledge to America. This wonderful bit of paper that gives a murky, vague view of  the republicans plan to save us all. It is loaded with ground breaking ideas like, leave all the Bush era tax cuts in place. Reverse all the Health care legislation to its Bush era form, Minimize all government involvement in anything that helps the poor or regulates the rich. Basically return to the practices and policies of the 8 year Bush administration. Very ground breaking and fresh. Don't get me wrong, the Democrats are idiots, but they are trying to do something different. If only we could manage to get them all to go off and start their own country, call me a dreamer. Why don't we slow down the spending, adjust the taxes for the rich to where they were a decade ago and try to start working on teaching our kids, not forgetting them. It will probably never happen in my lifetime, but it sure would be nice if we could get our head out of our asses. Remember, an election is coming up, be ready, do some research on your local ballot. Do not pick solely on the red or blue basis, most of them are idiots. Just work on which serves the masses with more equality. Lets start working on a better way moving forward.

  Every country has something to offer the world. Currently I am hanging out in Japan for a week and it has a lot. Since I have arrived I am yet to see a pot hole, trash or any beggers . I know nothing about the political system here, but as we wind our way through the rural countryside you see that nearly no one has two cars and virtually everyone has there own garden, very impressive garden. The people are polite, excessively sometimes and they are insulted if you are not. We are staying in the mid sized city Mito, slight over a million population. As you stand outside in the evening there are no sirens, no real police presence. I have been here for 4 days and have only seen 3 police cars and 2 ambulances. The food is what you make of it, some good , some bad like anywhere, but they take great pride in what they are doing. Something that seems to have slipped through our grasps. While this is only one town in one area of this island, it is a refreshing change. I will be glad to leave in a couple days, but also glad I came. People here seem firmly planted in something, stable it wouldn't hurt us to pay attention. I may feel different after a day in Tokyo Monday. By the way, any meat on stick taste good, remember that.

   I always wondered if Hitler had friends. He had to have some buds, people he liked to chill with. People who thought that he was misunderstood and that maybe he had a greater purpose that the rest of the world didn't get. He set his sights on the elimination of a group of people he didn't understand in the only method he knew how. In steps, Terry Jones, sure he doesn't have the resources that Hitler had but if he did he would do the same. I am sure he has a small group of people that see's his point of view. Everyone of them are raging fucking morons. We hate those who hate us, then we call them terrorists. We are better than the terrorists, as are 99% of the Muslims in the world. I certainly think a person should be able to express any believe that they have as long do not harass or otherwise impose their will on others. If we were to burn the bibles of every foreign religion, burn the books of every person who were different, soon we would be burning the books of everyone that we didn't agree with. You cannot let the narrow minded rule the masses. This world is not one religion, it is not one idea. It would be extremely boring if it was. If you take any one thing away from this rambling, I hope you realize that we are only a part of a bigger machine. If we want to rule the world with one view, one idea, we are no better than little Adolf. If we embrace the things that make us different, we may end the day with a little more knowledge, thus a little wiser. We don't have to change, only understand that others  need not change either. Don't let the views of a few, change the path of the masses. I hope you live well and let others do the same.

    We can all use a good laugh from time to time and I can tell you someone who will never disappoint, Glenn Beck. It should make us sad that an jackass of his status exist. In a perfect world he would have been killed by a falling crucifix, but that's not where we live. I cannot understand how I live on a planet with people that actually believe his lunacy. He is standing on the rooftop screaming about god and country, but only wants you to worship his fake invisible god and not your fake invisible god. Historically I would tell you that religion does a lot of good things, it brings people together, sometimes they help the less fortunate. I have changed my mind. Glen Beck is an example of why religion has caused virtually every war we have ever had. Everyone wants to have their religious freedom, but suppress yours. The radical Islam may hate us for our religious beliefs, but the Christians hate them just as much. The Curds hate the Israelis, I even think that Mormon's hate vegetarians, I have never heard of a modern war that didn't have a religious element. To stand up and profess that you are right and everyone else is stupid is....stupid. The more our world gets mixed and intertwined, the more this archaic way of thinking has no use. Diversity was once a highlight of our country and now Beck wants you to think it is a disease. I can only hope that he goes all Jim Jones and drinks his own cool-aid. Make a point to watch him every once in a while, so you can avoid any of his advertisers. Don't let one idiot with a platform drown out the voices of the sane.

     They are going to tell you that we have had a full withdrawal of combat troops from Iraq. The truth is most troops are gone from Iraq, but many have remained, in harms way and in danger. The name has changed from Iraqi Freedom to Iraqi ass patting or something, but the fact remains that 50 thousand troops have remained and will continue to be there until we elect someone with the balls to actually do something they say they will. Another by-product of this weeks meaningless landmark is that the dumb-asses that told us 8 years ago that we must hunt down the terrorists and capture the weapons of mass destruction (of which neither existed in Iraq) have decide that we should not "Worry" about the cost of freedom (which is a word they love to use to make their cause sound just}. Most any expert estimates the financial cost of Operation Iraqi Freedom to be somewhere between 1.5 and 3 trillion dollars. You can also add 4400 plus American lives of which a value cannot possibly be assessed. We will never know the true financial cost because the government has not been forced to disclose those figures. We only know how much is appropriated, not the actual figures that include the cost of rebuilding our armed forces, caring for our veterans and their families post service. There are also countless moneys paid out to the citizens of the countries we bomb.  If we don't do something we will be having this same discussion with the same ass-holes running this country into the ground 8 years from now. We need to leave Iraq and Afghanistan permanently and soon. Baby steps, get out and vote, tell someone you know, piss on a senator if you get a chance. Thank a veteran next time you see one, they do a thankless job, put there lives in danger and they don't always know why. Don't forget the senator thing either, it's very important. They deserve to be pissed on.

    Everyone has something wrong with them. Everyone's kid has ADHD or Autism. There are kids with problems, but we make people who really have sick kids seem less legit by making the group seem way bigger than it is. When I was young there were real morons, kids who you knew would never make it. They were a special group that were known as dumb-asses. We will always have dumb-asses, that is part of life. The world needs ditch diggers. Most of the problems with these kids can be traced to the parental unit of said dumb-ass. Frank Turner has a great tune called Thatcher Fucked the Kids, if you insert the name Reagan instead of Thatcher you can sort out part of the problem. Our budgets in the 80's were spent to fight the pinko commie threat, we really didn't prioritize education or social services. It really didn't get any better post Reagan either. So now that wonderful generation that I belong to is all grown up raising their own dumb-asses. I feel for someone with a child that has a real problem because the line of people with their dumb asses is incredibly long and now that's your line. I have a great idea, try raising your child..... I know it seems like a lot of work, but you decided to not pull out, so get to it. Maybe if we start now the kids of the next generation will have a chance.   

     We have so many wonderful amendments, we are guaranteed our right to accidentally shoot ourselves cleaning a gun, we are guaranteed the right to organize into groups of like minded loons and worship aliens, we are even guaranteed the right to a speedy trial by jury (unless we are locked up on foreign land, see Guantanamo Bay), but one of the amendments they say we need to change is one that actually makes our little spot of dirt work. We will call it the one-four. The one-four guarantees a few different things, but the one that currently has the over-active right up in arms is the thought that someone born on US soil is a US citizen. I know it seems crazy that people want to come here for a better life, we did build this country with this line of thinking. Now we envision Canadians sneaking over Niagara Falls in the dead of night to give birth for the free ride that is America. They are trying to sell this madness as a deterrent for the Taliban to fly in, give birth and start an army of Anti-American Americans. The reality is that they are scared that the new citizens are voters and the free ride that is American politics may end for them. Why don't we add an amendment that limits term lengths for all elected officials and adds an Alaskan hunting trip for everyone in congress once a year. Maybe that will thin the herd. Lets focus our energy on something useful, like housing the homeless or chocolate ice cream with no calories. Do not let them run free, they only want to hold the masses down, although the last amendment we passed took 203 years, so maybe I shouldn't be worried.     

  Is there some other way to get people to do things you want them to except by scaring them. I am pretty sure I would throw away old food, but thank heavens it has an expiration date. Better throw it away before it kills you. Most things have a number that if not recognized will cause some sort of penalty. Licenses expire, we have speed limits, but are they to keep us from getting a ticket or to keep us from killing ourselves. Laws are made to make us safer, healthier and all kinds of other things that they tell us. In reality they make you think that the alternative to agreeing with them is so horrible you shouldn't risk it. We have a list, that if not followed will cause such peril in the afterlife, well you cannot imagine. If you listen to one side the other is very scary and vise-versa. Agreeably one side is scarier than the other, but lets be realistic without fear they have nothing. I don't have enough time to be scared of all the things they tell me to. If we are to believe them we have all gone morally corrupt and are heading straight to Hell via a gay bar full of married Mexicans that cannot pay out any social security. I am tired, but I believe that they are so worried about what you and I are doing in our houses they cannot sleep in their own. Which is kinda a consolation prize. Think positive, the next time a hideous virus outbreak occurs, skip the vaccine and go out to dinner. Maybe you can get a seat faster. The stuff they are feeding you is full of foreign pathogens anyways, so enjoy. Remember between Keith Obermann and Fox News their is some high ground, stay out of their ditches. Now go do something fearlessly.

   I wonder all the time who came up with capitalism and thought it was a good idea. I am not trying to say I have a better one, but working at least 5 out of 7 days a week for 80% of your life sounds stupid to me. Just think of all the things you could accomplish by knocking the work time down a bit. You might get to know your kids or mow your lawn in the daylight. Maybe the pioneers didn't have it so bad, sure you had to do some amount of work to eat and live, but they weren't working to buy gas or a X Box. There were a lot of Native Americans to kill off and steal land from and combine that with a 40 year life expectancy and I just might be wrong. Does anyone really like to work? I mean, who complains about holidays or extra days off except morons who don't want to go home because they live in such a mess they have created that they cannot bear their own existence. I guess the people that love capitalism have someone else work 5-6 days a week and they check in on them from time to time and count the money. These are the same people who want to kick all the Mexicans out, who will they oppress then? These people are the biggest part of their profit margin. I hope they don't move to oppressing middle aged white guys or I will have to move to another country. Just remember that the ones who wrote the constitution, that all the nuts love to hide behind and shout about, were all immigrants, so unless your and American Indian I don't want to hear any of your bullshit. Get out and do something today, maybe call in sick to work and hang-out with your kids, I should have. Take a look around, I am sure that their is more to life than what we are getting out of it. Did I mention, SB 1070 is an archaic and stupid way to reform our immigration policy.

     This site is to occupy my mind. Its primary intent is to help gather the basic information available about the ongoing ignorance that is our United States Government. I will also occasionally complain about drivers not giving any room to cyclist on the road and possibly get lost off subject all together. I don't care if anyone or everyone reads it. I simply like to type out thoughts to clear my mind. There are so many atrocities going on at any time in our government it is hard to pick any one, so I may wander.  I will keep a page of links to news organizations and others that try to keep a finger on what takes place in our world, our world that continuously gets smaller. This is where I will begin.
